5 Signs You Need To See Your Dentist

It’s recommended that you see your dentist every six months, but how many of us live up to that suggestion? Life can get busy or we simply think nothing is wrong, so why go? There are symptoms that we can experience that may seem insignificant but they can be an important sign that it’s time to make that dental visit.

  1. Toothache – If you’re experiencing sensitivity or pain to hot, cold, sweet or biting pressure,    then it’s time to get your teeth checked.
  2. Bleeding Gums – If your gums are bleeding it could be a sign of plaque build-up, gum disease, pregnancy or a side effect of certain medications. All of which need to be addressed by a dentist.
  3. Broken Tooth – If your tooth breaks, whether it hurts or not, it’s best to have it checked out by your dentist. Getting this looked at sooner rather than later can help prevent expensive treatment later on.
  4. Dry Mouth – Having a dry mouth can put you at risk of having tooth decay. It can be a side effect of multiple medications or an under lying medical condition. This is something that can be managed by your dentist.
  5. Regular Dental Check-ups – If it’s been more than six months since your last dental visit, it’s time to make that appointment. It’s important to have regular dental visits where the dentist can carry out a routine exam, clean off any plaque build-up, as well as check for any problems such as tooth decay.
