A team of enthusiastic souls from DBay Dental spent the Saturday of the long weekend brushing up (pun fully intended!) on their dental/assisting skills at the Dental Assistants Association of Queensland (DAAQ) ‘Dental Assisting and Beyond’ conference in Brisbane.
This was a very welcome return (after an absence of a couple of years) of this conference, which has been a favourite professional development event for our practice for some time now.
As well as an opportunity to network and share information with our peers, it was a day of gaining knowledge in the following areas – Occupational noise in the workplace; Management of compromised teeth: an orthodontic perspective; Disaster victim identification: forensic odontology; Child abuse and the dental team; Dental trauma – early intervention by the dental team; Advances in maxillofacial surgery – computer assisted and simulated surgery.
During the breaks some of our team took time out to visit the stands at the trade display, bagging these very cute, and dentally appropriate socks. Well done, ladies!
Those of you, who are familiar with Dr Scott’s chatty chairside manner, will see the issue he faced when travelling home from the conference by train. Hmmm, do you think the team chose the quiet carriage deliberately?
